Reformer Pilates

  • Our intro classes at Reformer Collective are the perfect welcome to Reformer Pilates. These classes are designed to familiarise your self with all elements of the reformer machine.

    You’ll be guided through a slow paced class, exploring each part of the equipment & moving through the fundamentals that make up any reformer class; focusing on posture, alignment and moving with control. These classes will allow you to move with confidence and clarity, with an experienced teacher on hand to answer all of your questions.

    Perfect for complete beginners, or those looking for a more in depth introduction to Reformer training.

    You should aim to complete this once, and then move onto our Reformer Foundations or Signature classes.

    If you can’t make our R|C Intro class, you can dive straight into Foundations, just let the instructor know you’re new.

  • Discover the foundations of Reformer Pilates; learn how to move confidently and with precision on the reformer.

    Improve your posture and mobility, find your ‘powerhouse’ and explore all of the key elements of Pilates.

    You will leave R|C Foundations with a deeper understanding of your body, how to move well, and enjoy the full benefits of Reformer Pilates.

    R|C Foundations is suitable for complete beginners, pre/post natal, or those looking to refine their reformer technique.

  • Join our Reformer Signature class and experience a full-body workout with exercises to both mobilise and stabilise your body.

    R|C Signature offers a range of exercises to improve spinal health, joint stability and mobility, and exercises to improve overall musculature shape.

    You can expect layers and modifications to either challenge you or to offer support for your body where needed. Leaving you to feel calm, focused and centred after every class.

    R|C Signature is a general level class suitable for those with some reformer/Pilates knowledge or previous fitness experience. Pre/post natal with previous Reformer Pilates experience can attend.

  • Move with flow, pace, precision and great beats in this 45 minute full-body dynamic reformer workout. Reformer Dynamic focuses on keeping you energised; building on functional strength, mobility, coordination and working those ‘power house’ muscles (abs, glutes, back, hips) in addition to strengthening and toning your arm and shoulder muscles.

    Expect higher reps, muscle isolation with a cardio finisher all to improve strength, stability, body control and balance; getting you to move well and feel great about how you move.

    Our expert teachers will guide you through each exercise with optional progressions and modifications to work at a level and intensity that suits you.

    All abilities are welcome to Reformer Dynamic, however if you are completely new to the Reformer Machine we’d recommend Reformer Foundations or Signature classes to feel confident. Our Dynamic classes are faster pace than our other classes.

    Not pre/post natal friendly.

  • Our 45 minute Reformer Bounce & Barre Reformer session is a unique combination of dynamic cardio tramp, barre isolation exercises and conditioning reformer exercises to create a fun, higher intensity and athletic workout.

    Our Bounce classes will challenge your core muscles and legs with frequent jumping intervals. You can expect to increase your heart rate leaving you feeling powerful, energised and focused.

    All abilities are welcome to R|C Bounce, however if you are completely new to the Reformer Machine we’d recommend Reformer Foundations or Signature classes to feel confident. Our Bounce classes are faster pace than our other classes. Not suitable for post/pre natal.

  • Restore classes are here to help you reset, recover and restore your body. These classes will help relieve muscular tension, you will lengthen muscles and improve spinal health, joint mobility and flexibility.

    Restore will take you through breathing exercises to calm the mind; you'll move through a flow of both dynamic and static stretches, with longer developmental stretches to increase your range of motion; improving your overall movement ability as well as leaving class felling loose and more relaxed.

    All abilities welcome to Reformer Restore. Not pre/post natal friendly.

Mind and Movement

Available at Reformer Collective Brighton and Balham.

  • Barre is a low impact, full body workout incorporating both bodyweight exercise and using a ballet barre to isolate your main muscle groups (hips, abs, and upper body).

    Experience the barre burn as you work your muscles to fatigue; improving muscular endurance, joint stability and reshaping your muscles. Enjoy moving to the beat and get ready to feel your muscles shake!

    All abilities welcome to R|C Barre.

  • Improve your overall movement health in this fusion of traditional and contemporary mat Pilates.

    This class will focus on improving posture, and re-aligning imbalances of the body. Enjoy a range of mobility and stability exercises; strengthening joints, improving balance and promoting good spinal health.

    Class is designed to get you moving well and enjoying the way you move.

    All abilities welcome to this class.

  • Our Dynamic Mat Pilates class focuses on mindful movement with an emphasis on breath, control, precision & flow.

    These core principles combined with an added layer of intensity with functional movement exercise improves core strength and toning, and mobility and stability for joint health & stronger muscles.

  • Choose from our morning, evening or Sunday Gentle Flow classes.

    Our Gentle Flow classes focus on full body balance and a mindful and connected practice.

    Combining the fluidity of a vinyasa session with the serenity of restorative yoga, this class leaves you feeling connected and restored.

    Our morning Gentle Flow classes start slow and allow the body to rise naturally with the use of our sunrise lighting, leaving you grounded for a beautiful day ahead.

    As our evening Gentle Flow classes unfold, they transition into a quieter phase, creating a harmonious and peaceful state. The perfect wind-down after a full day.

  • Our Restorative Yoga classes are all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching and breath work, aligning your body and mind to leave our studio feeling grounded and empowered.

    In our Restorative Yoga classes you’ll hold each position longer, allowing your muscles to fully relax.

    All abilities welcome to this class. Please bring socks and a warm layer to wear, as your body regulates to a slower paced class.

  • Our Vinyasa Flow class are energetic and dynamic and activating for both the body and mind with varied paced sequences throughout the flow.

    Your body will be put through it’s paces with challenging positions to strengthen and tone the body. Leave the studio feeling balanced, grounded, energised and strong.

    All abilities are welcome in this class.

  • Level up your training with this fast paced, functional bodyweight HIIT class.

    Each class incorporates exercises to improve speed, agility, and athletic performance.

    Expect short intervals with plyometric, explosive movement; perfect functional movement patterns and improve your reflexes in this sweaty, upbeat class.

    All abilities are welcome in this class.

  • Reformer Collective’s Hard-CORE class is all about abs, abs, abs!

    Be ready to isolate all areas of your abdominal wall and work other key areas of your core including exercises to strengthen your back and stabilise your hips and pelvis. Improve your core strength, move well and notice the benefits to your overall fitness training.

  • A meditation class supported by the live playing of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Alchemy, Chimes and more.

    Wrapped in layers of sound and vibration, discover the effect of pure sound on your physical and energy body leading to a calm and meditative state. This class will be both extremely relaxing and the source of deep introspection.

    Due to the slow pace of the class and stillness in the body, please bring enough warm clothing to regulate your bodies temperature.

    Blankets are provided, however please ensure you have socks, a jumper or any layers of additional warmth.
